On Sunday 27th September Somerset travelled to Bridgend to face Glamorgan in their first ever county match.

As the venue started to fill it soon became clear that the Somerset supporters, players and officials were going to outnumber the home team by around 2/1 which gave us a massive boost.

The draw was done and after Clive gave his team talk it was time for the action to start.

The under 18’s were the first up with 9 matches best of 5.

Glamorgan got off to a flyer winning 3-0 but Somerset soon hit back winning the next 3 games, Arthur 1-3 (21.63) Brandon 2-3 (20.01) and Liam 2-3 (25.41) to take a 1-3 lead. Overall it was a fantastic day and our hosts Glamorgan made us feel welcome from the start. The team spirit was amazing amongst the players and win or lose the sportsmanship was second to none which was great to see.

Somerset would like to thank our hosts Glamorgan for making us feel so welcome and all our travelling supporters, the players and officials who helped make the day such a great success
